Last night I was looking at some pictures that people took of the last super moon of the year which happened earlier this month and is also called the strawberry moon.
According to the old farmers almanac the name Strawberry moon had to do with the ripening of strawberries during the month of June and was given this name by several native American tribes.
This got me thinking about a recent card I saw that was showcasing completely different bundles on the same card.
Combining the strawberry and the moon is how my Strawberry moon card came into being. I used To the Moon stamped in Petal Pink, and sponged a little with Pale Papaya on Shimmery White card stock. I masked this and using a Blending brush I added Misty Moonlight to create the night sky. I used the Sweet Strawberry bundle, stamped with Petal Pink, adding Real Red for the detail, and for the stems I used Garden Green ink.
The trees were made using dies from Majestic Mountain on Evening Evergreen card stock, which is also the color I used for the base card. That makes 3 different stamp set/bundles, all on the same card. That was fun!
Assembling the card was easy, putting the trees in front to really show the super moon, and the strawberries to the side to name it. I really like how it came together. Try doing something like this and see how you like it, send me a picture of it, I would love to see your creation too.
Not all cards need to be specific to a type of card you mail- such as Birthday or Get well etc. Sometimes it is fun to just mix things up. I could easily mail this card for almost anything. The greeting can even go inside the card once I know what I will use it for.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day and watch for another post coming soon.
