When I first saw the July-December catalog I was very pleased to see this fun Penguin set, so purchasing this set was on my list, and when it arrived it was the first set I played with. Sometimes the samples in the catalog speak to you and there is nothing wrong with copying the sample. Sometimes I do this just to get a feel for the stamp set, sometimes I tweak as I go along. This card was so much fun to make – see if you can find the small differences between my card and the one in the catalog.

This set comes with lots of elements – but because this set comes bundled with a punch not a set of dies, there is some detail cutting involved. The punch, punches out the whole penguin, the center part of the penguin and it’s feet. Everything else you will have to either stamp directly to your project or detail (aka fussy) cut them out.

I will tell you what I did differently – are these the same as what you saw?

  1. I did not emboss the snowflakes or the greetings, I just stamped them with Whisper White craft ink
  2. I colored the tree trunks brown with Early Espresso marker
  3. I adhered the Picture This frame directly to the card base rather than popping it up.

Only 4 days til the July-Dec catalog and Sale a Bration goes live! Woo Hoo!

Thanks for stopping by,

Jan
