Today I want to share with you a fun card I made using this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit So Cool!
I love watermelon- so I decided to first focus on that image. Also in the kit are rainbows and popsicles and I have those to share too, but first I want to show you something I did with this card that was lots of fun.
I started by cutting out the watermelon close to the image, so it would be easy to adhere to the front of my full size card. The card is a 4.25×5.5 folded card base in Old Olive and a layer in Poppy Parade which I stamped with the birthday greeting and dots. I stamped the “you are so cool” onto one of the die cuts and layered it onto the silver glimmer paper. Next up the watermelon. I love juicy watermelons and so decided to add some shine to red part of the watermelon, using shimmery crystal effects.
See how shiny the red portion of the watermelon is? The crystal effects is meant to stay that way even when it is dry.
Almost everyone when they see a card that looks like there is some kind of texture will run their finger over it, this one is no different, and because I did not add the crystal effects over the entire image you get a varied texture.
Here are a couple more cards using the same kit.
Want to make fun cards like these? Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription with complete kits that come directly to you every month, you can make the cards shown in the kits or mix things up like I did. Either way you will be having fun.
Hope your day is a brilliant one,
Jan
