Today I am sharing a card I made using the new Happy Holly-Days stamp set in the July-Dec mini catalog.
When I was flipping through the catalog the little bird (actually pretty big) caught my eye along with the holly too but what really caught my eye was the sentiment
“wishing your family Health and Happiness throughout the coming year”
of course we all wish this for everyone every year, however it seems like after the year we have had, it just seems important to say it. So I decided that it would be on the inside of this card.
I chose to use the new Evening Evergreen for the green of the holly- not typically this dark but I love this new in color. I used Real Red for the berries and for the bird along with Smoky Slate light blend for the bird and to outline the holly on the front of the card. I detail cut the bird and popped it up, adhering the feet to the sentiment piece.
When I am going to put the sentiment on a separate piece of cardstock I will look for a punch or a die that the greeting will fit nicely into -so that it has a more finished edge- I know it is not always possible but for this card I used one of the stitched rectangles – a perfect fit.
