The last 6 weeks have been full with moving my daughter and her family closer to home base, moving my son and his wife also closer to home base, and migraines. So, fun and not so fun things have been on my agenda. I did get to stamp and stitch during this time too.
The card I am sharing today was part of my designing cards for my October classes, playing with the Stampin’ blends, rubbing alcohol and the Gorgeous Leaves bundle. Fall is really my most favorite time of year. I love the colors and the light.
With this card I used colors that were sitting at my desk – I say this because my usual go to colors for leaves were packed in my bag for a class outside the studio and if I pulled them out I would then have to remember to put them back before I headed out the door.
Instead of doing that I pulled out Bermuda Bay as my primary color, I added some blends that I have duplicates of- Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight along with the Bermuda Bay and Old Olive, scribbled those onto an oversize piece of vellum, then added some 91% isopropyl alcohol to it, swirled it around and let it dry.
The key to having the colors pop is to use the dark blends and then be sure to back it with basic white or another light colored card stock. Since my top layer that I die cut was basic white, that is what I chose for the layer under the vellum.
The Gorgeous Leaves set does not include any sentiments, so I chose one from the Welcoming Woods stamp set.
I am going to be taking things slow for a bit until I can get a handle on the migraines- I am scheduled once again for Botox injections late October- I am never one to look forward to being poked, but between the flu vaccine, shingles vaccines, Covid vaccines, another flu vaccine coming up I think I am getting used to being poked so the 30 plus injections (all in one sitting) that make up the Botox treatment for migraines -might just be another day. It seems that it is the way forward.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great day and if you want to stop by and do a little shopping in my online store that would be nice too! Sale a Bration 2.0 is winding down (last day is September 30) and although there are still goodies to be gotten for FREE for every $50 in product you purchase, the choices are beginning to “sell out”. Take advantage while you still can.
Happy Stamping,
Jan
