I was so excited to see a new Snowman set in the July-December mini catalog. If you know me you know I love snowmen. I like them best either on a card, or from inside my warm house with a cup of something warm to drink in my hands while I look out at the snowmen -or the building of them.

This set is so sweet! and comes with some great greetings – from Snowflake Hugs to Your Snow cool, to Cold Hands Warm Hearts, plus several more.

I stamped the snowmen group in the center of the card, I used our Thick Basic White card stock since Christmas greetings should stand on a mantel and the thicker cardstock does this better, plus I was adding a popped out snowman to the group and wanted to be sure it would hold up. to create the popped out snowman I stamped the group a 2nd time on a piece of scrap card stock and fussy cut just the snowman I wanted to pop out.

*Quick tip – when you have fine line items as part of what you want to cut out- just snip those off because the cut out image is going to sit on top of the base image, the fine line items still show -such as the arms of the popped up snowman here.

I colored all the hats, and scarves, and of course the ear muffs on the snowman on the left. I outlined the base grouping -making what is probably supposed to be snow piles into rocks so that I could make the snowmen pop more I colored them in Gray Granite. I added some Wink of Stella onto the ribbons that are wrapped around the snowballs to make them sparkly.

In this picture you can see where I snipped off the arms but was careful to line him up, so his arms would look connected. I stamped first and second generation snowflakes all around and added some Basic Rhinestones to the centers of the large snowflakes to add more sparkle.

I think I might make this one again, but pop up their carrot noses, maybe leaving the base attached and instead of a dimensional, as it might be too much, but just a rolled up glue dot towards the tip of the carrot noses- to add just a bit (more than a hint) of dimension.

Fun card right? If you have some white puff paint it would look fun here, – maybe on the piles of snow that I made into rocks?

I hope you enjoyed this card. These guys will be available for purchase starting August 3rd!

Happy Stamping,

Jan
