The sentiment “I love that we are friends” in the Country Bouquet bundle is what prompted me to purchase it, and now I have made some many fun cards with this set.

For this card, I started by creating a background. Using only smoky slate and real red inks, I stamped the hearts, and stems.

The first thing to do when you are creating a background that will also include the sentiment, is to stamp the sentiment first. This allows you to be sure there will be room for it. The larger hearts are stamped and punched out on scrap paper, and can be layered anywhere on the card.

For the base card I used Shimmery White card stock, this card stock allows for a bit of fluid and since I did a bit of spattering I wanted that quality in the base card. I did the spattering after all the images were stamped on the background, I let some of it puddle, and others I dabbed a bit. Using the water painter loaded with water and picking up a bit of ink on the tip, I held the painter in my dominant hand then knock it against a finger on the other hand and watched the splatter. It is a fun technique and unique every time.

For the popped up heart I stamped the outline heart on Basic White card stock so that there would be a little contrast with the base, however I stamped the solid hearts on the Shimmery White card stock

I added the little red rhinestones found in the annual catalog randomly around the card to add a bit more sparkle.

Make a friend a card this Valentines, and see what happens.
