Today I am sharing a card I made using the new Blessings of Home bundle -which is one of the sets available as part of the Heart and Home Suite. The whole suite is amazing! For this card I used the Blessings of Home bundle but added the doily, hive embossing folder and designer paper elements of the Suite.
Although this is basically a flat card (only the greeting is raised) it has a lot of texture to it. Starting with the first layer the hive 3d embossing folder provided the first bit of texture, then the doily adds a bit of interest and since I only adhered it in the center, you can lift the edges of it.
The doily also has a rougher texture than the very smooth Very Vanilla card stock, which I stamped and die cut, and layered over the embossed portion allowing for another texture transition. Finally the raised greeting although smooth also has an a transition between the designer paper and the stamped portion.
I think that when we make cards with texture, it makes the giving and receiving a much nicer experience for everyone.
